Yesterday I informed you about new South Korean ad called Absolut White Day. There is another interesting ad which I did not know yet. It is called Absolut Determination where the small ant is holding bottle of Absolut on his back. This ad appeared in Esquire (January 2004, South Korea). Ad is made by photographer Michel Dubois and copyright is 2003. I need to thank to Xristo for the scans of both Korean ads.
It looks like there are some interesting ads in Asia. Does anybody know someone there? :) And we still don’t know anything about ads in China and other Asian countries…
New ad called Absolut White Day was found in South Korean magazines GQ (March 2004; South Korea) and Esquire (March 2004; South Korea). Maybe you would like to know what it is White Day. So read this description:
It’s origin is unknown. On Valentine’s Day, 14th February, girls give presents to their boy friends in Korea. Someone thought that the day was good for sale products. So the reasonable name was made for the 14th March, a month later than Valentine’s Day. And the rule, boys must give something their girl friends in return for presents, was spreaded widely. A lot of Korean have wrong idea that this day is celebrated in other countries like Valentine’s Day. In addition to White Day, Black Day, Yellow Day, Blue Day and other color days are known for 14th day of the following months. They are not as famous as White Day.
Another new ad appeared in the US right now. It is two page ad called Absolut Audition. First page is classic “bottle focused ad”. The second page comes with text information about the bottle. Ad appeared in Entertainment Weekly (2/27/2004; USA). For information thanks to Harry.

There are almost no new interesting ads in January. It is still the same every year. New media plan 2004 for each country has to be agreed in Absolut headquarters so we can expect nothing special in next few days or weeks.
