Read more in this news article.The European ABSOLUT campaign, created by TBWAParis, was selected by a unanimous jury as the winner of the Effie Gold Award in the spirits category, the Effie Award for long-term effectiveness and best of all; the Effie Grand Prix for the best overall European campaign across all categories!
This year ABSOLUT competed against seventy-three campaigns submitted from various European countries. The Euro Effies are awarded to campaigns that are effective in at least two European countries. The campaigns are judged not only on creativity but also on the basis of the efficiency of the advertising, the campaign objectives and the performance results. The jury consists of twenty-two professionals from advertising agencies, advertisers, media and European marketing and research companies.
Since the launch of ABSOLUT VODKA in 1979, the ABSOLUT brand has received 320 awards. In 2000 the ABSOLUT campaign won two Euro Effie awards. In 2003 ABSOLUT has already received no less than seventeen awards, including a Gold Effie for sustained success at the Effie Award Gala in New York in June.

What do you get if you combine a violin-and-guitar duet with a DJ playing trendy lounge music and a vodka drink? Absolut Beats, the new advertising campaign of Absolut Puerto Rico, launched on Sept. 26 at a cost of $250,000.
“Absolut is renowned for its bond with fashion and the arts,” said Luis Acosta, Absolut Puerto Rico’s brand champion. “We are trying to fuse contemporary and classical music to attract a larger public through a new art medium.”
The innovative campaign is a massive two-day promotion, which will include TV, radio, and print spots; live music on crowded intersections in the San Juan metro area, Ponce, and Mayaguez; and promotions in restaurants and bars. “In two days, we are going to hit every media as a preview to the formal launch of TV spots at 9:00 p.m. on Friday,” said Acosta.The campaign, developed by advertising agency JMD Communications, presents the world of music in an innovative manner. According to Acosta, the campaign features maestros of classical, popular, and contemporary music to create new musical fusions. Among the collaborators are Cuco Peña, Ivan Robles, and DJ Gulembo.
Acosta said the creativity that distinguishes Absolut’s campaigns worldwide is on full display in the new campaign. JMD’s creative talent has found ingenious ways to integrate the silhouette of an Absolut bottle into each execution.
“This campaign marks the closing of this year’s marketing efforts. Next year we will continue to focus on music to promote Absolut,” said Acosta. “Music is a form of expression that reaches every market. Through this campaign, Absolut is trying to relate to local music, an essential part of the lives of people in Puerto Rico, by creating a nontraditional relationship with various musical forms.”

New ad for Absolut Vanilia simply called Absolut Vanilia appeared in Germany where the Absolut Vanilia vodka is coming soon on their market. This ad can be found in german edition of InStyle magazine (10/2003). On the other side in Czech republic’s geographic magazine called Koktejl (10/2003) appeared Absolut Buenos Aires ad which is a part of Absolut Latin America City ads campaign. Absolut Buenos Aires can be found on page 119. In Czech republic can be found another ad which is well know. It is Absolut History and this ad is inside czech edition of National Geographic (10/2003).
On friday 12th September the Swedish Society held a Launch party for the newest product from Absolut Vodka, namely the Absolut Vanilia, in United Kingdom. As a launch party it wasn’t anything special, but for a friday at the Port Office it was great! And it was made extra cool by having everyone wear white, which gave the entire function a kind of ‘theme’ in addition to the vodkathingie.
