TBWA Athens, in collaboration with Amvyx A.E. and KiNO, created and present the new Greek television campaign for the Absolut Vodka. The two new television spots in duration of 22 seconds, that constitute the television expression of campaign (Absolut Night-In 730kB and Absolut Night-Out 700kB), show us - from the point of view of the famous vodka - the qualitative characteristics of ideal nightly amusement, either in the house or in a bar.
These characteristics are focused in the group of friends, which even though it maintains the variety of characters, personalities and opinions (which becomes obvious from the different style of the clothes), at the same time it maintains its cohesive bonds through the mirth, the communication and the search of excuse and time for friendly, Absolut amusement.
Thanks to the information sent by Themis from Greece I was able to search the internet and find these tv ads to download so just click on the links in this article and enjoy them. Themis also sent me information that Absolut Night Out was made as a printed magazine ad too. It can be found in BHMagazino (a weekly Greek magazine which comes free with the newspaper TO BHMA every sunday) on 8th of May 2005. The ad can also be found in the latest issue of Athinorama magazine in Greece.

V&S Absolut Spirits has broken ground on a new distillery in the south of Sweden. The spirits manufacturer began construction of the facility in Ahus yesterday (12 May 2005).
V&S plans to invest around SKK360m (US$50m) in the distillery, which will have a targeted annual production capacity of around 22m litres. The distillery is expected to be completed and in operation in 2007.
With a total area of 10,000 sq m, the new site will operate in parallel to the company’s central distillery in Ahus.

I am sure that everybody knows the great Absolut Book written by Richard Lewis. It is great book full of images, informations and other interesting stuff. I had a chance to inform you that Richard Lewis is working on the sequel which should arrive to the stores this year. Now I have more detailed information that the book should be issued around the October. Good news, is not it?
The latest Absolut advertising campaign just started and the Absolut Apeach apeared on Absolut Access website. You can explore the first Absolut Apeach printed ad, find some drink recipes and some other small things.
Unfortunately the Absolut Access program is for US residents only and you have to be registered to visit the site.

(PR) The launch of the latest Chinese campaign coincides with the New Year festivities taking place February 9-23. Integrated with the Web site, the offline campaign features a billboard, print advertisements and online advertising - all specifically designed for a Mainland Chinese audience. (click here for more information)The theme of the campaign is ‘fortune and blessing’, a concept central to Chinese culture in the celebratory weeks of the New Year. The Chinese character (’fu’) offers wishes of ‘fortune, blessing and happiness’. When turned upside-down, the character symbolizes ‘welcome’, and is a common tradition for people to put this sign on their front door for the New Year.
ABSOLUT NEW YEAR will include advertisements featuring an ABSOLUT bottle emblazoned with the character, specially designed by famous calligrapher Mrs. Tong Yang-Tse. The bottle will be used on innovative rotating billboards and print ads, allowing it to be turned either direction to communicate both meanings.
Beyond advertisements and the Web, a limited edition lantern has been created in observance of the traditional Chinese festival, falling on the last day of the two-week observance of the New Year.
A centerpiece of this campaign will be a dedicated new Web site that builds off the success of absolut.com. Located at absolutvodka.cn, it is written entirely in the simplified Chinese characters, which are standard on the Mainland. Estimates suggest that 80 million Chinese have Internet access, with this figure rapidly growing. For these people, many of whom are in an emerging Chinese middle class, http://www.absolutvodka.cn will be an enlightening window on the global approach to drinking and cocktails.
The new site features three sections. The first section celebrates the Chinese New Year and its numerous customs and traditions. The ABSOLUT bottle rotates, prompting the visitor to select either ‘fortune/blessing” or ‘welcome’. ‘Welcome’ offers New Year drink recipes, and downloads such as a fireworks screensaver and print advertisement as wallpaper. In ‘blessing,’ visitors are invited to create a traditional paper lantern and share it with a friend. Examples from other visitors are also posted online, to share with others.
The second section features numerous drink recipes on the three products available in China — ABSOLUT VODKA, ABSOLUT PEPPAR and ABSOLUT CITRON. Here, consumers throughout Mainland China are invited to experiment with the drinks and learn more about an international cocktail culture.
The third section features a video on the history of ABSOLUT and the heritage of the brand. Here, visitors will learn about winter wheat, “One Source” and the town of Ahus in Sweden, where all bottles of ABSOLUT originate.
