Promocard in Italy will shortly distribute two new postcards:
- Absolut Gola (Promocard n°5793, Absolut Vodka collection n°311)
- Absolut Icebar (Promocard n°5795, Absolut Vodka collection n°313).
Gola is the Italian word for “gluttony” and this will be the 4th part of the Seven Deadly Sins postcards which Promocard intends to issue by January 2006.
Edgar is also the publisher for the card shown, advertising a contest which allows participants to win trips to several German cities such as Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Cologne.
In the same context, TBWA Berlin apparently created a series of 17 different motives of some German cities of which a few have already been launched.
I have been advised that these can be found in the print media, and that Edgar will be the publisher of the postcards.
See also the Absolut Wies’n postcard in the previous news article.
“Wies’n” is the Bavarian expression for the Oktoberfest in Munich.
Possibly next might be the issue of
* a postcard with two Absolut Vodka bottles representing the Cathedral in Cologne,
* a postcard with the Absolut Vodka bottle covered by an orange stola representing the Red Light District in Hamburg in a suburb called “St. Pauli” or
* a postcard with the Absolut Vodka bottle kept in a transparent shopping back representing the very exclusive shopping high street in Düsseldorf called “Kö” (short form of Königsallee).
The Absolut Wies’n postcard appeared in Germany. This card was issued by Edgar company. For information thanks to Robert.
The Absolut Raspberri series is now also being advertised in Colombia. Free Card has issued Absolut Release (Kenji Hirata) postcard in these days and follows Miêdzy Nami (Poland), Escaparate (Mexico), Go-Card (USA), AvantCard (Australia) and CoolCard (Taiwan) who all issued postcards featuring Absolut Raspberri earlier this year.
Promocard in Italy has now finished its “summer circuit” and restarts on Monday distributing its postcards in the usual locations in all major cities. Next week or in the first week of September, the following two Absolut Vodka postcards will be issued:
- Absolut Curriculum (Promocard n°5699, Absolut Vodka collection n°309)
- Absolut Avarizia (Promocard n°5700, Absolut Vodka collection n°310).
Avarizia is the Italian word for “greed” and you are right … it is the 3rd part of the Seven Deadly Sins postcards which Promocard intends to issue by January 2006. Back in May 2005, Absolut Invidia (n°5406 - n°300) and Absolut Lussuria (n°5481 - n°301) were issued, which stand for “envy” and “lust”.
In order to celebrate the launch of Absolut Raspberri, postcards have been issued in several countries advertising the new flavour.
Following Miêdzy Nami (Poland), Escaparate (Mexico), Go-Card (USA) and AvantCard (Australia), now also CoolCard in Taiwan released two cards which should be in the racks shortly.
Both have the same name, but come with different images.
Absolut New Arrival (n° 4080501121) and
Absolut New Arrival (n° 4080601121).
During the summer, Promocard in Italy distributes its postcards almost exclusively in summer locations, i.e. close to the sea and in other hot spots where people usually spend their vacation.
The latest Absolut Vodka postcards being distributed in these days are:
- Absolut Oasis (Promocard n° 5655, Absolut Vodka collection n° 307) and
- Absolut Duty-Free (Promocard n° 5656, Absolut Vodka collection n° 308)

There are three new artworks made for Absolut Raspberri in Australia. Two of them were made as an billboards situated in Melbourne (Cnr Inkerman and Barkly Street, St Kilda) and Sydney (Williams Street, Darlinghurst). The first one in Melbourne is called Unleashed by Phibs (made by Tim ‘Phibs’ de haan) and the second one is called Unleashed by Merda (made by Jay ‘Merda’ Rankine) and this one can be found in Sydney. If you want to see how these billboards were made day by day check out this image gallery. There should be third artwork made by Shannon ‘Dmote’ Peel but there is no information about it yet. More to be posted later.
Both artworks were issued on Australian postcards too. The AvantCard company made the Absolut Release: Unleashed by Merda postcard #9756. On the back of the postcard is Absolut Rasberri Blossom drink recipe. The Absolut Release: Unleashed by Phibs comes with Absolut Raspberri Mule drink recipe on the back. The third postcard can be probably expected soon.
