Last night, on 18 October, it was “sneak” premièred at a spectacular release party at Villa L’Abri in Cannes—Absolut Watkins, the smashing new limited edition flavour from Absolut, created exclusively for global travellers, reflecting all of the excitement, glamour and star quality of the globetrotting fashion world. Absolut Watkins will be launched throughout the global duty free/travel retail market in January 2011.
The new edition has a truly innovative new flavour; rich, smooth and sensual in taste and aroma with the distinct, mysteriously luxurious qualities of freshly ground coffee with notes of almond, caramel and warm chilli.
The extravagant and glamorous decor of the unique limited edition Absolut Watkins bottle was created by celebrated Swedish fashion illustrator and artist, Liselotte Watkins, famous for her designs for fashion brands such as Miu Miu, Anna Sui and Barney’s as well as for magazines such as Vogue and The New Yorker.
“With my bottle decor and the campaign imagery, I wanted to convey something of my own vision regarding the archetype of cosmopolitan glamour,” said Stockholm and Milan based Watkins. “The flavour is a traveller’s exclusive and travelling is one of my great passions. Everything I do is all about people and places, travelling and new experiences.”
The “sneak première” of Absolut Watkins was staged during the TFWA World Exhibition at an extravagant party for trade press and VIPs, complete with set designs and extras employed to add an out-of-the-ordinary sense of the timeless glamour of classic luxury travel, naturally all in the presence of the artist. Seems to me that this site transformed to the “limited editions” blog instead of magazine ads. Yes. It’s true. No one cares about the magazine ads Absolut Vodka produces last few years and almost all collectors focused on limited edition bottles and covers. For all the fans of limited edition bottles there is going to be new one this August in China - ABSOLUT 72变. 350 000 bottles going to be made! It’s been quite a long time since my last post. Busy months didn’t allow me to think about Absolut world too much. So what’s new?
New limited edition bottles appeared together with new city flavor. Let’s start with ABSOLUT BROOKLYN. It’s fourth city limited edition after New Orleans, Los Angeles and Boston. The flavor is red apple & ginger. More about the bottle can be found on AbsolutRegis.com forum.
Other two limited edition bottles were produced in Italy where they started to sell them in March. The are called ABSOLUT WALLPAPER. One bottle designed by Gio Pagani and second one by Alessandro Guerriero. There should be only about 90 000 bottles made!

It looks like there is really going to be ABSOLUT VANCOUVER limited Absolut Vodka. It appeared in BC Liquor Stores website. See this site. Well… Absolut Vodka should announce it around 10th November 2009.

Right now there are two very interesting auctions on eBay. If you like to collect limited edition bottles produced by Absolut Vodka you should check out this ABSOLUT TACK bottle which is right now price of 819 USD. This bottle was produced for employees of Maxxium as a thanks present when Absolut was bought by Pernod & Ricard. Second bottle is called ABSOLUT 20th ANNIVERSARY and made in 500 copies in 1999 when Absolut Vodka celebrated 20th anniversary. Price on eBay is now on 1000 USD. Very nice and rare bottles!
Absolut vodka has launched a new limited edition, Flavor of the Tropics, at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes. The new product will be exclusive to the global duty-free channel and will be launched in Europe and the Americas in January 2010 and rolled out to the rest of the world in February.
The Flavor of the Tropics variety features the natural sweetness of orange, mango, lychee and melon, with noted of pineapple and berries, and comes in a collector’s bottle with bright orange and deep red highlights. The new Absolut flavour will be supported by a full-scale marketing campaign including advertising, in-store activities and tastings, moving media and installations.
The Absolut Company global travel retail director Anders Olsson said: “We are extremely excited about this unique launch. It’s the first time that we have the privilege of introducing a brand new, innovative flavour exclusively to our travelling consumers, who are always on the lookout for something new and thrilling—something that can’t be found back home. Following on from the success of the limited edition Masquerade and Disco bottles in recent years, the new bottle - wrapped in an exclusive package of leather and studs - pays tribute to the “vibrant, bold and irreverent world of rock”.
The Absolut Rock Edition is being launched in Selfridges on September 1 priced at £19.99, before being rolled out to retailers at the beginning of October. (Already in stores in Germany!)
