February 13, 2005 05 May 2004 New art ad from Taiwan: Absolut Hung

New asian ad appeared in Taiwanese GQ magazine (May 2004) and it is called Absolut Hung. Artist Hung Tung-lu, who has shown previously in the Taiwan Pavilion at the Venice Biennale and at the Taipei Biennial 2000, recently did an ad for Absolut Vodka using his cyber-doll printed as a lenticular image - an image which gives the effect of movement, like one of those toys from the Cracker Jack box. The local art mags featuring the ad that might give native English speakers a chuckle as the copy reads “Absolut Hung”. For image thanks to Corry.
