The Absolut Rock Edition is being launched in Selfridges on September 1 priced at £19.99, before being rolled out to retailers at the beginning of October. (Already in stores in Germany!)

Absolut Rock Edition is at the heart of the ‘In An Absolut World, You Rock’ campaign.

The launch will be supported by creative marketing activities which enable consumers to feel like rock stars.

July 20, 2009: AbsolutAds.com might be for sale!

As you already noticed I don’t have enough time and interest to update this site. In an Absolut world of collectors a lot of things has changed. I still love all about Absolut but all the the passion I had in last 7 or 8 years is gone. Sad, I know.

Because all of this I would like to sell this site to anyone interested in Absolut advertising who’s able to keep this site alive. As I know this is the last living site about the Absolut Vodka (except discussion forums).

Until the site will be sold (if it will be sold) I’ll still update with all news I’ll have.

What is for sale: Domain name AbsolutAds.com, image gallery with 1243 Absolut ads (scanned by myself), all articles since 2001. All other content in the way you can see online. Hosting included for free. (No need to transfer the site).

June 1, 2009: In an Absolut World No Destination Is Impossible

Pernod Ricard Travel Retail is launching a global marketing campaign this month entitled In an Absolut World No Destination Is Impossible to “celebrate the global traveller in space and mind”. According to the drinks company, the campaign is aimed at the contemporary global business and leisure traveller who values the trip as a means of expanding perspectives geographically, mentally and intellectually.

In a statement, the company said: “This campaign is created for longevity and will introduce the global traveller to a series of ideal destinations, the only boundaries for which are those of imagination. The first of these is The Eternal Sunset Coast, an ideal destination where the most romantic and poetic moment of the day lasts eternally.”

The campaign, which is being launched initially at Singapore Changi, London Heathrow and Frankfurt airports, is the first to use In an Absolut World as a marketing platform.

With reference to the aforementioned travel guide gift, the campaign is being run in collaboration with Monocle, a global affairs magazine created by Editor in Chief, Tyler Brûlé. This is a special In An ABSOLUT World travel guide with 12 selected features identifying the magazine’s ideal destination.

“As a special bonus to our ultimate travel guide we have compiled our favourite features from our most loved destinations and asked Satoshi Hashimoto - one of our favourite illustrators - to render the elements we’d like to see punctuate a perfect destination IN AN ABSOLUT WORLD,” said Editor in Chief Tyler Brûlé in his foreword. 

The Absolut Company global travel-retail director Anders Olsson said: “Our market is all about travelling, physically and mentally, so we are excited about introducing a campaign concept that adds new dimensions to the art of voyaging, with the traveller in the role of the hero.”

May 26, 2009: Absolut No Label: New limited edition

The Nuance Group Sweden has been selected as the launch partner for The Absolut Company’s new release in travel-retail. Absolut No Label is a limited edition of the 40% abv Absolut vodka and will be available exclusively at Nuance’s Swedish duty-free stores until the end of June.

Absolut No LabelThe Absolut No Label bottles are numbered and contain no label or logo. They feature only a removable campaign sticker with the website address, where consumers can find more information and give feedback. The product was launched on May 22 and in Scandinavian travel-retail the exclusivity deal will be extended until the end of August.

The Nuance Group Sweden general manager Karl Walter said: “The Nuance Group places great emphasis on creating a relevant local offer for each of its stores. Swedish by origin, Absolut is a very important part of our World of Vodka section in the Stockholm Arlanda tax-free store, boasting a very prominent display. It will be a pleasure to add this limited-edition Absolut No Label line to our liquor range in Sweden, providing our customers with a truly exclusive offer ahead of any other store downtown or at any airport in the world.”

The Absolut Company global travel-retail director Anders Olsson added: “In an Absolut world there are no labels. No one is judged on the basis of prejudice, and everybody is encouraged to be who they really are. Seeing beyond stereotypical labels makes the world more vibrant, diverse and respectful.”

There is a new IAAW magazine ad I never saw. What about you? This version appeared on eBay and comes from Israel.

This ad promotes the new limited edition packing “ABSOLUT POP UP AND SERVE MINI BAR”. You can get it on eBay here. This packign is available at least in Israel and comes with 1L bottle bot there will be three different sizes available. 750ml, 700ml and 1liter.
